Join my online classroom!

How it works:

I make your very own online classroom and can set things for you to watch, read or explore and give you work tasks related to that particular topic of learning. Sometimes it is a recorded video of me and at other times I use other videos. I’m available for several hours each day to help you if you need support to understand anything. The work will be at the right level for you, and it can be a mixture of work on paper, online work, or creative work. We will work this all out together depending on your choices. It’s all about your choices and no pressure from me! 

You don’t have to be online at set times. You can do the things in your own time, whenever you want, and I will be online at those set times each day so you can message me about things you don’t quite understand, or anything really.

I’m basically here to be your real life -yet online – teacher. Actually I hate the word “teacher”! I am here to be your learning guide…? Err, that sounds worse. But anyway, don’t think of a traditional teacher who will set you homework and ask you why you haven’t done this or that etc! It is not like that.

I don’t see you online – we just text message on the classroom platform. Other children in the class don’t see your messages either. Only your parents and I will see your messages and my messages. I can help you when you’re stuck and just be there for you. I can teach you something online in person if you need more support with a particular lesson. I’ll just message and say ” If you’re stuck, let’s meet now!” and you click the link and you can see me and my virtual whiteboard to explain things! Like a Fairy Godmother I appear to melt away your anxieties about a subject! Or I can send a video link to further explanation. I can mark work if you want me to, but I don’t have to. Your choice.

If you have challenges in certain things, (for example maybe if you are dyslexic, or find reading lots of text difficult), together we can find lots of different ways to support you with your work.

We will follow the same holidays and dates as schools do, so you will still get holidays and things like that, but honestly, you can choose to do things from our virtual classrooms whenever and wherever! We will have three terms (12 weeks each term).

We have group meet ups every Tuesday and Thursdays for fun activities, crafts, learning things – all sorts! You can come both days each week, one day each week, just occasionally, or no days!  I understand how meeting new people can make us all anxious, but we are probably all feeling the same way, so we can totally understand those feelings. Maybe you will end up making some new friends? We’ll see. We have a lot of fun on Together Days. Some parents come too, so they’re welcome to stay if you feel anxious. 

We have a parent WhatsApp group so I can make sure everyone knows exactly what will be happening at the Together day and what to bring. The parents all help each other on the WhatsApp group too, and it’s a really friendly and supportive group.
